In 2010, with a desire to make authentic wine that he could be proud of, he and his friends planted 1,800 wine grape seedlings on a plot of land overlooking Lake Toya. Three years later, the long-awaited first harvest took place. 150 kilograms of grapes were harvested by carefully picking each bunch of grapes and sorting out the damaged grapes. It seems like only yesterday when we loaded the grapes into a light truck and went to Toal Winery in Kurisawa-cho, Iwamizawa City to prepare the grapes. The next year, 2014, 90 bottles of red wine and 25 bottles of white wine were bottled, but unfortunately the harvest that year was only 20 kg due to disease, insects, and animal damage.
